The “Old” Sign!
Folks who pass by the Houser One Room Schoolhouse on Old Tilton Road might have recently noticed that the sign on the building, “Canterbury Historical Society”, is missing from the façade. It has been removed for a fresh coat of paint, but it’s removal reminded us of when it was first installed, in April of 2000. Please find attached a few snaps from the Archives of the “sign installers”, Fifield brothers Olly and Stuart, and the artist who painted the sign, Jim Lilly – as well as the Historians of 2000 who had their names inscribed on the reverse of the sign for posterity!
