The Canterbury Historical Society is looking for volunteers to be involved with a project identifying and recording cellar holes in our town. Many old maps show where once sat numerous farms built in the 18th and 19th centuries. Today, remnants of these long forgotten structures sit enveloped in the woods in the form of rock wall foundations that scatter the 44 square miles of our town. The object of this project is to record the stories of the farmers and their families who built their homes and farmed, worked, and lived in Canterbury.

PLEASE HELP US: If you have an interest in helping uncover the stories of the land on which you live, please contact us at Canterbury.nh.historical.society@gmail.com, or speak with Sam Papps or Alan Stone to be added to the list of volunteers.
