“Serving one’s community” in the form of volunteering, civic engagement or public service is a selfless commitment to something larger than oneself, something that promotes the common good. Military service has been an honorable and traditional form of service, representing a devotion to one’s home country’s well being and all the ideals it represents. In our cemeteries we have the opportunity to honor those who “gave the full measure of devotion”
– LT Henry French, LT Thomas Moore, Bernice Scales, brothers Charles and Thomas Brown, John Whidden, Charles Morrill and George Shannon.
